Basketball
If you are a returning member official on the Arbiter with the Chicagoland HS Basketball Assigners (if you were a member in 2016-17),
you should register by following the direction
s below, but you will also need to pay a $10 late fee,
which will not be waived no matter who you are or what excuse you think you might have.

Send your check for $10 payable to "West Suburban Conference" to:
Jay Lyons, 63657 E. Vacation Drive, Tucson, AZ 85739

If, for the first time, you are joining our Arbiter group to receive basketball assignments, even if you are already on the Arbiter with another assigner(s) or group(s), you will need to note the following:

1) If you are going to be working high school basketball for any assigners in our system, you need to be licensed in basketball  for the 2017-18 season by the Illinois High School Association. If you have not yet taken care of your IHSA license, there's no point in following these instructions any further. Get that taken care of, then come back to this page. Once you are licensed in basketball by the IHSA, you can go on to Step 2. (Be sure to use the same email address for the Arbiter that you have on file with the IHSA.)

(If you are working college basketball ONLY, and if you have been told to register with us by Harry Bohn or Wes Fritz or LaMar Simpson, you can go right on to step 2.)

2) You need to register on the Arbiter and then pay the Annual Arbiter Access Fee. To do that, you will need the following:

     a) your IHSA license number and current Rating (X, R, C), if applicable.

     b) a "head and shoulders" photo of yourself on your computer, ready to upload. Save those pictures of your kids, pets, and boats, etc, for your Facebook page. We just need to know, in a recognizable manner, what YOU look like.

     c) a credit card to pay the 2017-18 Arbiter Access Fee of $4.50, or your checking account tracking and account numbers if you prefer to pay by e-check. No other payment methods will be available.

3) Now you are ready to go to the ARBITER and register to work football for the Chicagoland Football Assigners Coalition.

FAQs

If I am registered with another ARBITER account for college or another level assigner, do I still have to pay this fee?
The Arbiter charges per official per account.  That is why officials pay a fee for football and another fee for basketball, because they are separate accounts with separate Arbiter numbers.  It is also possible that you pay an Arbiter fee to another assigner that uses the Arbiter. You would still have to pay us a separate fee as we still get charged for you by Arbiter.

Is this just the first step?  and will fees go up in the future?
Your Chicagoland Assigners are not making any money on these fees. We are committed to only charging the fees that are associated with getting you registered on the Arbiter. The cost has been raised to $6.25 because Arbiter charges $1 for this registration service, similar to PayPal, and there is also a  fee that goes to the credit card company. We will not raise your fee again unless our costs increase.

What if my local association wants to pay my fees for me?
Sorry, but that will no longer be possible, now that the Arbiter collects your fees directly from you.
